Based on this transaction, Electrovaya has not only gained one of the most advanced and automated production plants for lithium-ion electrodes and ceramic separators but also corresponding intellectual property: Litarion owns a vast portfolio of proprietary patents on chemical cell-components for Lithium-Ion-Batteries.
Electrovaya has entered into the transaction with a strategic focus: The acquisition leads Electrovaya the path to expand into the european makets for eletric vehicles and energy storages and, at the same time, boosts poduction capacity for its proprietary technologies.
Following its decision to focus on speciality chemicals, Evonik has found in Electrovaya a strategic partner to continue Evonik’s lithium-ion business and to offer new perspectives to both employees and customers.
